
International Rafting Federation -Guide Training Education (GTE) workshop

22–24 May and 28 -- 31 May 2026
The IRF Guide Training Program is an intensive 7-day training course designed for novice raft guides and safety kayakers.
The course focuses on developing the fundamental skills required to safely guide commercial rafting trips.
Participants train alongside experienced guides who will later attend the IRF workshop, allowing rookies to observe real guiding situations and gain practical insight into professional rafting operations.
Course Content
The course follows International Rafting Federation guidelines and covers:

Quality safety demonstrations for guests

Raft guiding techniques and manoeuvres

Raft-specific river rescue techniques

Safety kayaking skills and responsibilities

Crew management and working with guests

Flip drill procedures
-
Risk management on commercial rafting trips

Teamwork and communication
Participants receive a certificate of course completion and up to 20 logged trips in their river logbook.

The minimum number of participants for the course is 6, and the maximum is 14. If the minimum conditions aren't met, the course will be canceled, and the participant will be offered another date or a 100% refund.
